The Mountain View-Birch Tree R-lll School District has partnered with non-profit organization Care to Learn, (CTL.) Based out of Springfield with forty chapters in Missouri, CTL is dedicated to helping children succeed.
Liberty Highschool counselor and liaison for the Mountain View-Birch Tree Care to Learn Chapter, Kristy Reese, expressed a wealth of gratitude for Care to Learns’ partnership with the district.
“Care to Learn is a blessing not only to students, but to staff,” Reese said. “Care to Learn fills the gaps of health, hunger, and hygiene, without it landing on the shoulders of an individual.”
She explained it was a lengthy process to get where the program is now, but students began benefitting on the first day of classes this year.
“With Care to Learn we can identify that there is a need and take care of it,” Reese explained. CTL operates solely from donated funding and will not be replacing any of the current programs, but rather offering further aid for students as expressed by Reese.
