West Plains School District names Lucas Brown as the new high school principal

The West Plains School District Board of Education has appointed Lucas Brown as the high school principal for the 2022-2023 school year. The decision follows the appointment of Matthew Orchard as the incoming Director of Human Resources and Student Services.
Brown has served as the Glenwood R-VIII School District principal since 2019. Before becoming the principal, Brown served as a teacher and assistant principal at Thayer R-II School District. 
"The West Plains School District has much to celebrate with the recent hiring of new leadership. I am excited to welcome Brown to the leadership team. He will be a great asset to the West Plains High School, students, and staff. Our interview team unanimously recommended him, and the board unanimously approved his contract.," said Dr. Wesley Davis. 
Brown holds an Educational Leadership Specialist from Arkansas State University. His Bachelor's degree is in Social Science from Missouri State University. He earned a Master's of Science in Education Administration from Missouri State University. 
Brown will begin his duties as the West Plains High School Principal on July 1, 2022.
