West Plains Schools: Athletics & Activities Guidelines for Parents/Students

Area county health departments recommend 50% seating capacity at all school related activities to allow for social distancing, reads a release from the West Plains School District. Vouchers (pre-purchased tickets) will be used by Ozark Conference Schools, which includes West Plains School District athletics to predetermine visitor attendance for the high school sports of volleyball, softball, soccer, and football (All Zizzer Athletic Booster Club members may use prepaid passes as home vouchers).
For the 2020-2021 school year, masks will also be required for admittance at all athletic events.  The requirement includes all indoor and outdoor athletic venues for high school and middle school activities. The district will not require vouchers for middle school activities, but masks are required as well as social distancing.
Each West Plains School District head coach (volleyball, softball, soccer, football, cheer, and band director) will coordinate with players and students to distribute and sell vouchers. The priority of voucher distribution and attendance is the following:
  1.  Participants (includes all performing students, coaches, officials, contest workers and media).
  2.  Parent/guardian of participants.
  3.  West Plains High School students for high school competition and West Plains Middle School students for middle school competition.
  4.  All others until capacity is reached.  Senior or student courtesy passes will not be accepted for admittance.
Vouchers are nonrefundable.  The vouchers are also interchangeable among spectators.  The district’s objective is to keep schools and programs open, along with keeping "Fans in the Stands" by working together to provide safe competition and spectatorship.
