Zizzer Homecoming parade route

Homecoming 2022 is just a couple of weeks away. The West Plains School District has asked patrons, community members, businesses, students, and staff for their thoughts and suggestions on this year's parade route. The district is pleased to announce the parade route will return to the traditional route beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7.
The parade will start with a lineup at the corner of Missouri Ave. and Main St., travel along Main St. and around the square, continue onto Main St., and finally will disband in the West Plains Civic Center parking lot.
The entire community is invited to join in the excitement and view from downtown. The homecoming parade is the only event in the school year where all 2,700 Zizzer students are together in the same place, at the same time. The district asks that attendees take extra caution near the parade route as the district creates this memorable experience for the Zizzer staff and students. Please prepare for Main St. and parts of Missouri Ave. to be blocked off before and after parade time.
Homecoming Friday will not be a typical early release day; instead, it will be a full school day with the following dismissal times:
- South Fork at 3:45 p.m.; West Plains Elementary at 2:50 p.m., ZPA at 3:30 p.m., and West Plains Middle School and West Plains High School at 3:40 p.m.
The 2022 homecoming theme is "Zap the Yellowjackets". Here are a few events for the day:
