Fundraiser auction April 26 for Brixey and Rockbridge Fire Department

A community grill out and auction for the Brixey and Rockbridge Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Saturday, April 26. Donations of pies, cakes and/or new merchandise are being accepted for the fundraiser auction. The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise money for new radios. The fire department needs a better way of communication with dispatch, air care, ambulances and fire personnel during emergency situations. The fire department is very active in fighting fires and assisting with medical emergencies. Ambulances and air care take up to 45 minutes to reach a scene making the fire department essential in the community.
