Howell, Oregon counties in extreme drought

Despite the recent storm that moved through, the National Weather Service announced Extreme (D3) Drought conditions last week for a large portion of the Ozarks, including Howell and Oregon Counties. The majority of the D3 area is in Arkansas. Severe (D2) Drought persisted and expanded over portions of southwest and south-central Missouri, with Moderate (D1) Drought and Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions continuing across southwest Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas. Drought impacts include reduced stream flows, degraded crops/soil/forage, and increased wildfire activity.
