Effective January 1, there was a price increase for library cards at the Mountain View Public Library. For residents of the City of Mountain View, the cards will cost $10. Fees are due January 1, 2021 and cards are good from January 1 to January 1 each year. A current Missouri photo ID and a copy of a utility bill will be required to obtain an in-town library card.
For residents outside the city limits, library cards will cost $20 per year, also due on January 1. Applicants will need to bring a current Missouri photo ID and proof of address.
Family cards are available for households with children. Up to four people can use one family card for $20. Additional cards on a family account cost $3 each.
Computer usage will cost $1 per hour, even for library card holders.
The fees paid at the library will go toward keeping the library operating and open, announced the library in a Facebook post.
Citizens with questions or concerns are invited to call or stop in to the library or City Hall.
