On Feb. 26, 2025, a Howell County grand jury indicted Donald A. Macias, 47, of West Plains, on ten separate charges. This month, Macias entered an Alford plea of guilty, and the state agreed to drop nine of those charges.
Under the plea agreement dated January 5, Macias is guilty of one count of statutory rape of a person less than 12 years of age. According to plea documents, this charge carried a penalty range of 5 to 32 years’ incarceration. Howell County Judge R. David Ray sentenced Macias to ten years in the Missouri Department of Corrections (MDOC).
Macias remains in Howell County Jail pending transport to MDOC as of press time.
As previously reported by Howell County News, Macias’s crimes are the repeated sexual abuse of a female child, beginning when the girl was in second grade.
This case has been pending in Howell County Courts since the February indictment, and Macias has been in custody since his Feb 28, 2024 arrest.
