Enforcement of the Mask Ordinance in West Plains

Enforcement of the West Plains city ordinance that requires face coverings in the city limits remains in the education phase of enforcement, said Officer John Murrell of the West Plains Police Department.
“We haven’t issued any citations to my knowledge,” Officer Murrell said on December 11.
“Right now still in the education phase,” he continued, “Whether [citizens] agree or disagree, it’s an enforceable ordinance. We’re making sure people are aware that we are enforcing it and making sure businesses are complying.”
The ordinance in question was passed on November 4 and will be in effect until at least February 2, 2021.
