Holiday Decoration Contest at WS School Campus

Simmons Bank in Willow Springs is sponsoring a contest among groups on the Willow Springs School campus. More than half a dozen entries are vying for both a prize and bragging rights based on who decorated best for the holidays. 

In this unusual school year defined by COVID-19 restrictions, students are longing for a little bit of fun, said Jennifer Owens at Simmons Bank. She suggested the company could judge a contest of decorations that could be viewed safely from outside the buildings to preserve distancing protocols in place in the school district. No school funds are being used on the contest, and the bank will provide the prizes.

The contest has been met with an enthusiastic response from students and school staff. 

“It has turned into something very competitive, but very nice,” said Superintendent Bill Hall. 

The entries were judged on December 15, and winners will be published next week.
