Howell Co. hunters bagged 1,070 deer opening weekend

Preliminary numbers from the Missouri Department of Conservation report that hunters harvested a total of 1,070 deer in Howell County during opening weekend of the November portion of the firearms season. 537 of these were antlered bucks; 114 were button bucks; and 419 were does. 
 
Hunters in Howell County harvested the fifth most in the state after leaders Franklin, Texas, Pike, and Macon.
 
Throughout the state, hunters took 65,359 deer – 40,661 antlered bucks, 4,876 button bucks, and 19,822 does.
