Mountain View Council Session Highlights

The Mountain View City Council met on September 13. Mayor Donnie Pruett proposed an increase in the number of liquor licenses within the city to Board of Alderman. The current limit of ten licenses were all assigned prior to this decision. All present members were in favor of this increase to accommodate a new steakhouse expected to open soon.
Council also voted to move two existing CDs valued at $26, 418.26 and $26, 239.88 from Simmons Bank to West Plains Bank. This transfer will result in the CDs collecting a higher rate of interest. The council also voted to add Linda Higgins, Financial Officer, to the approved list of employees who can receive banking information involving the city of Mountain View. All present members were in favor.
During the council session, members signed off on all the paperwork necessary to approve US Cellular to set poles within the city. This approval will result in a 5G upgrade within city limits.
The council also decided to set this year’s trick-or-treating time to be 5pm to 8pm on October 30.
