New Sales Tax in Mountain View?

City Council Votes to Put the Question to Voters in April
The Board of Aldermen for the City of Mountain View voted to pass an ordinance that will put a new sales tax on the ballot in the next municipal election. The voters will decide on April 6 whether to accept a new one-half percent sales tax to be used to fund parks and recreation for the City of Mountain View.
The text of Proposition 1, which will appear on the ballot, reads, “This sales tax will be used solely for local parks of the city, in order to construct, maintain, improve, and manage the parks, trails, playgrounds, park parking lots, bathrooms, aquatic facilities, cemeteries, and other natural lands and facilities primarily used for recreational purposes.”
