Newly Built Dollar General Now Open

The newly constructed location for the Dollar General in Willow Springs opened for business on April 28. The former location that shared a parking lot with G&W Foods between Main and Third Streets, closed early in the week. The new location is at the south intersection of East Main and Cherry St.
The store manager, Paula Burnes, told Howell County News the new location has 3,800 additional square feet, which makes for a better shopping experience for customers. Aisles are wider, and there is more room for expanded inventory.
In the new space, Burnes said the store now carries a bigger line of frozen and fresh foods, a larger selection of home decor, a bigger line of party supplies, and will feature a new section of “Good & Smart” brand groceries, which she said is a, “healthier version,” for snack options.
As in the old location, Dollar General still offers their online pick-up service through their app as well as FedEx pick up/drop off services.
The Red Box system will be moved to the new location soon, Burnes said, but as of press time, the movie rental machine remains operational outside the old location.
“Having it all new and clean is just amazing,” said Burnes, “It’s better for customers and employees.”
The new Dollar General location is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
It remains unclear what will become of the building which formerly housed the retail store and now stands empty.
