Pop Up Farmer’s Market Comes to Willow Springs

Secret Springs Farms set up their market booth at Bear Crossing Shopping Center for the first time on Tuesday, August 3. Based in West Plains and owned and operated by the Hickey family, the farm offers fresh produce, herbal tinctures, goat milk soap, infused honey, elderberry products and more. On Wednesdays and Saturdays for the last two years, the Hickeys have been at the “Go Farm” Farmers’ Market in West Plains, but they were excited for a chance to bring their farm products to Willow Springs. Susan Hickey said her family business received a warm welcome.
“All of this was harvested around 11 this morning,” Hickey told a customer. The booth was so busy, there was hardly time for an interview and photo.
“I don’t understand why more people aren’t doing this,” Hickey wondered.
Secret Springs Farms set up their booth with permission at the shopping center and say they will be back every Tuesday. They said they sold more than 20 pounds of produce in their first two hours.
Bear Crossing Shopping Center is located near the intersection of East Main Street and Highway 60/63 at the “South Junction.” The strip mall on Bear Crossing Dr. features four permanent businesses: Eleven Point Financial Advisors, United Country Real Estate, On the Floor, and Lakeland Pharmacy.
