Robertson-Drago Funeral Home welcomes new owners

After 35 years, Charles and Pam Drago, owners of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, announced last week the transition of the funeral home to new owners, Jason and Jessica Kirby, of Mountain Home, Ar.

The Dragos are only the second generation of their family to own the funeral home since 1934. Charles began his funeral career working for his parents, Bob and Vivian Drago, in 1980. When purchasing the business in 1991 from Vivian, Pam joined the company. After nearly 50 years in the business, Charles and Pam are looking forward to retirement with confidence that their family’s legacy is in good hands.

 

“We believe the Kirbys understand the importance of family care in a close-knit community and have their own proven experience of exceptional service in our region,” Drago said. Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services is family-owned and operated, established in 1976, in Mountain Home, Ark., followed by a second location addition in 1979 in Bull Shoals, Ar. The Kirby family also owns a cemetery and mausoleum complex, Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Gassville, Ar.

 

Under new ownership, the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home name will remain unchanged, a sign that the Kirbys appreciate the legacy they are continuing.

 

“We realize Robertson-Drago Funeral Home has been an important part of West Plains for generations, and we feel honored to continue that legacy,” Jason Kirby said. “Our focus is on being present, approachable, and personally involved so families know the care they receive here will continue to come from people who are deeply committed to this community. Jessica and I feel grateful for the trust Charles and Pam have placed in us and we look forward to stepping into this role of ensuring the funeral home remains a trusted place for years to come.”

 

Drago added, “With our family’s name still affiliated with the business and familiar, knowledgeable people still helping the families we’ve come to know so well over the years, we expect a smooth transition and the same high standard of care our community has come to expect from Robertson-Drago.”
