Summer Fun in ’21

Families and community members gathered at the Mountain View Family Youth Center on Saturday for fun, food, and family centered activities. The event featured several fun opportunities for engagement including both indoor and outdoor activities. Among them were a dunking booth, bounce house, classic car and bike show, ping pong, and a truck from the Mountain View Fire Department.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for our little boy to meet new friends and people in the community,” expressed Mike Zeller, of Willow Springs.
This outdoor event was graced with perfect weather for attendees to enjoy a day out with their loved ones. Saturday’s gathering radiated a pleasant sense of community to all who attended from Mountain View and surrounding areas.
Tim Riley commented, “We just came to help the community. We used to live here in Mountain View and wanted to help out.”
MVFYC offers a safe place for kids to come enjoy themselves throughout the year. Ricky Baker, Director of MVFYC spoke about the various programs they have to offer children and families. “During the summer we offer a summer camp for kids from seven in the morning to six in the evening. Kids who attend receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack each day. We also host Skate Night on Friday and Saturday night throughout the school year. We have had as many as one hundred-eighty kids attend on skate night before.”
Baker further stated that this is the first summer fun event MVFYC has hosted in three to four years. He added that he was pleased with Saturday’s turnout and is interested in making it an annual event. Funds from Summer Fun in ’21 will go to support programs, activities, and facility maintenance at the Mountain View Family Youth Center. For more information about MVFYC visit mvyouthcenter.org.
