Three Felons Arrested in Douglas County

On March 18, Sheriff Chris Degase, Deputy James Nelson, and Wright County Deputy Chad Johnson of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service on US Highway U for a report of tampering with a motor vehicle. Julio Gonzalez, 32, of Springfield, Mo.; Christopher Penkert, 32, of Springfield, Mo. (both males on probation); and Jacqulyn Lytton, 33, of Springfield, Mo. were booked into the Douglas County Jail.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s office, Gonzalez was found to be in possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and of drug paraphernalia. Penkert was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia; and Lytton was in possession of methamphetamine.
All three were taken into custody and charged with additional felonies. Sheriff Degase noted that both Gonzalez and Penkert were on probation with a combined total of over 30 prior arrests between them. Gonzalez was on an ankle monitor after being released on bond from Greene County and was supposed to be on house arrest.
All three subjects have bond conditions include expulsion from Douglas County except to attend court or meet with attorneys.
Sheriff Degase said he would like to thank Wright County Deputy Chad Johnson for his assistance in this case.
