Water Park Pause

The water park section of the Willow Springs city pool closed for "safety issues" on June 15, according to a statement released by the City.
The closure is temporary. The water park is expected to reopen "perhaps within a week or so", confirmed a spokesman from City Hall on June 16. The inclined entry into the water park section was too slick for safety, and pool users were slipping. No serious injuries were reported.
City crews are waiting to receive the supplies needed to texturize the entry safely before reopening the section of the pool complex. The water slide, lazy river, whirl pool, and child's play structure is affected. The big pool has remained open.
While the water park is closed, the entry fee has been reduced to $2.
