Isaac K. Harmon, 22, of West Plains faces one count of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree statutory rape. The charges stem from an assault in March.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Lieutenant Torey Thompson of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, there is an eyewitness to the assault.
Lt. Thompson interviewed Harmon, who admitted to the assault, using the word “rape” to characterize the interaction, and admitted that the victim was underage.
Harmon’s confession corroborated facts outlined in the victim’s forensic interview with Child Advocacy Center.
In a post-Miranda interview on April 22, Harmon again admitted to the assault of his underage victim. He was formally charged on April 23, and his bond was set at $50,000. He posted bond on April 25. After a grand jury indictment on April 26, the case was bound over. This matter was scheduled for an initial appearance before the Hon. Steven Privette on May 1.
