Willow Native Promoted to Navy Lieutenant

During a recent promotion ceremony in South Korea, Willow Springs High School graduate, Crystal B. Blagg, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant (O-3) in the United States Navy. Following her 2010 graduation from WSHS as class valedictorian, LT Blagg completed a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree at Missouri State University. After receiving her military commission, LT Blagg has had several duty stations, with her most recent being a joint assignment in South Korea where she has distinguished herself through her hard work and dedication to duty. The citation for her recently received Navy Commendation Medal states, “LT Blagg demonstrated extraordinary leadership… through her noteworthy accomplishments, perseverance and devotion to duty [she has] reflected credit upon herself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.”  LT Blagg has also been awarded the Humanitarian Service Medal, Korean Defense Medal and Navy Overseas Service Ribbon.  Her next assignment will be in Italy.
LT Blagg is the daughter of Leon & Beverly Blagg of Willow Springs. Her brother, William J. Blagg is also serving the nation as a Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
