The Willow Springs Public Library is excited to announce our new e-book, e-magazine, and digital audio book lending service through the app Libby by Overdrive. The Libby app is available for Apple and Android devices and can also be accessed from any computer web-browser. In order to access Libby you’ll need a Willow Springs Library card with an active account.
Step 1 – Install the Libby app from your app store on your smartphone or tablet or visit libbyapp.com to use Libby on any web-browser.
Step 2 – Open the app and follow the prompts to find our library and sign in. You’ll need your full 14-digit library card number and 4-digit PIN to access Libby. Our library staff can help you find your card number and pin. Give us a call at 417-469-3482 or stop in and see us Tuesday through Friday, 10:00am to 4:30pm and 9-11am on Saturday.
Step 3 – Browse the collection and start borrowing! You’ll find e-books, audio books, and e-magazines for all ages and interests. You can read right in the Libby app or send your books to your Kindle device. Borrowed titles download to the app automatically when you’re on Wi-Fi so you can read them when you’re offline. You can also manage your borrowed materials to renew or return. Books automatically return on the due date so you’ll never have an overdue fine.
Go to www.overdrive.com/apps/libby/ to learn more.
For those who prefer turning actual paper pages, we have online options for you too. If you visit wslibrary.webs.com and click on the “Evergreen” tab, you can search for materials by title, author, and subject. If you can’t find what you want in the Willow Springs Library, you can set the location to “Missouri Evergreen” and see if another library in our network has what you want. If you have an active account, you can place a hold on the item and have it sent here for checkout. While you’re on the library website, take a moment to check out our new January releases and see what others are enjoying in the “trending now” section.
And for all our patrons who avoid technology as much as possible, or just prefer to physically pull a real book off a real shelf, we welcome you to come and browse live and in person. Whether digital or real, the choice is now yours with e-books at the Willow Springs Public Library.
