Willow Springs High School Alumni Gather Saturday

Willow Springs High School alumni gathered to celebrate with fellow graduates on Saturday, May 29. Held at the Willow Springs Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) building and grounds, approximately 250 to 300 alumni gathered from 3:00 p.m. into the early evening to visit again with friends and enjoy a barbeque meal which included 801 cookies catered by Sharry and Jack Lovan. Burgers and brats were grilled to perfection by Adam Webb. Many accolades are due to Phyllis and Tom White for organizing and hosting the event and the many alumni who helped to serve and clean up afterward.
Earlier in the day, inside the EAA building, the Class of 1970 celebrated their fifty-first anniversary, which they could not do last year. The Class of 1971 also observed their fiftieth anniversary at Willow Springs' Booster Field. The unseasonably cool weather did not dampen spirits in either the morning or afternoon sessions held outside. Earlier in the week, it was feared the grounds could not be groomed because of excessive rain, but with the help of Pat Stuart, all was ready by Friday.
