BARBARA JO BARNARD

Barbara Jo Barnard was born December 10, 1961, in Cabool, Missouri, to Martin Glen Hale and Myrtle (Worley) Hale. She died Monday, January 11, 2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 59 years.
Barbara was raised and educated in Willow Springs and graduated with the Willow Springs High School Class of 1980. She then went on to earn her associate degree as a Legal Secretary at Oklahoma State University Technical School in Okmulgee where she met Walter Z. Barnard, Jr. The two were married on July 2, 1983 in Willow Springs. Barbara spent most of her working life as an administrative assistant in the Biology Department at the University of Tulsa for almost 25 years. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as traveling to the Gulf Coast, going on cruises, working jigsaw puzzles, and collecting cat ceramics and figurines. However, most of all, her favorite times were those spent with her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Glen.
Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: her husband, Walter Z. Barnard, Jr.; her three children: Nicole Poore and her husband, Mark, Mark Barnard, and Natasha Barnard. She is further survived by her brother, David Hale and his wife, Jennifer; her sister, Sally Williams; and her mother, Myrtle Hale.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scott Williamson officiating.
