Glenna Juanita Stubbs

Glenna Juanita Stubbs, 86, of Willow Springs, Missouri, departed this life on April 14, at Willow Care Nursing Home. Glenna was born December 5, 1934 in Burnham, MO to Marion Francis Jones and Verda Lily Kinney Jones. She was known as Juanita by all her friends and family, and Grandma Nita by her grandkids and great grandkids.
Juanita attended Burnham School until her high school years, where she attended Willow Springs High School. After high school, she married Lawrence Sidney Stubbs and together they had three children: Wanda Sue, Gail Lynn, and Mark Steven. Juanita had a long career at Conway Winter Shoe Factory until her retirement. After retirement, she loved being outdoors, working in her flowers and caring for her yard. She and Sidney won the Yard of the Month award multiple times. Juanita and Sidney were also known for their large Christmas light displays in Willow Springs, that won them many plaques over the years before he passed away in 2011. Juanita was a tough little lady who survived four strokes, a battle with Covid, and pneumonia. She passed away peacefully following the effects of her last stroke. She attended Westside Family Life Center until her health declined.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sidney; parents, Marion and Verda Jones; brothers: Ralph Jones, Harold Jones, Lester Jones, Leroy Jones, Delbert Jones, and two infant brothers, Melvin and Billy Jones. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Marie Lovan, Gladys Chad, Beulah Kentch, and Mary Norris.
She is survived by her brother, Marion Jones of Springfield, MO; three children: Wanda Smiddy and her husband, Mike of Cincinnati, OH; Gail Collins and her husband, David of Willow Springs, MO; Mark Stubbs and Bryan Moody of Moody, MO; and five grandchildren: Jeff Smiddy, Neil Smiddy, John Smiddy, Stacie Shockey, and Crystal McGinnis. She will also be dearly missed by her 10 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18, at 2:00 P.M. at Westside Family Life Center in Willow Springs with funeral service immediately following at 3:00 P. M. Pastor David Lovan will officiate, and interment will be in the Willow Springs City Cemetery.
