Ronald Lee Cox

Ronald Lee Cox, 83 of Cabool, MO passed away on March 24, 2021 at his home.  He was born on October 14, 1937 in Willow Springs, MO the son of Raymond and Lydia (Wonnell) Cox.  Ron grew up and attended school in Willow Springs until moving to Iowa where he graduated from Lakeview High School in Lakeview, IA.  He then attended Buena Vista College for one year before entering the US Air Force.
 
Ron met his future wife, Betty Krenke, while stationed at Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, NE; they were united in marriage on May 31, 1959 and to this union two children were born, Sheri and Gary.  After receiving his honorable discharge, they moved to California where he started an 18 year career with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller at LAX in Los Angeles, CA.
 
After retirement in 1979, the family moved to Cabool, MO.  Ron was an avid golfer and fisherman, he also enjoyed wood crafts; but most of all was spending time with his family.  He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and attended as long as his health permitted.
 
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary Cox; his brothers, Darrall, Don and Billy Joe Cox and his sisters, Maxine Leech, Nola Lorenzen and Peggy Sievers.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty of the home; daughter, Sheri Harrison; grandson, Paxton Cox; 3 great grandchildren and a sister, Midge Lippincott; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
