Wesley Alvin Ledbetter

Wesley Alvin Ledbetter was born in West Plains, Missouri on June 8, 1952, to Henry Monroe and Eunice Thelma (Henry) Ledbetter. He went to meet the Lord on August 17, 2024, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri.

He attended West Plains High School and worked various jobs in the area, later moving to Salem, Missouri until he received his draft card. He answered that call to service in the Army in 1972. On June 8, 1973, Wes was united in marriage with the love of his life, Frances Lee Hankey in Salem, Missouri. After completing his active duty in 1979, Wes and Frances moved back to Mountain View to the farm raising beef cattle, custom haying, and doing the jobs that were necessary. He and Frances were blessed with two children, Wesley and Regena.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Inez Hankey; and sister and brother-in-law, Ina Gene (Hankey) and Lester Gill.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; son, Wesley Eugene Ledbetter (Shalita); daughter, Regena Lee Radford (Derrick); grandgirls, Christian Radford, Haley Chilton (Kenny), Sydney Radford, and Grace Radford; three great-grandgirls, Paisley, daughter of Christian, and Winnie, daughter of Haley and Kenny, with another on the way, Willow; brother, Henry Charles Ledbetter (Janice), two nephews, Sanford and William and families; and many cousins, relatives and friends.

Wes was baptized as a young boy and attended the Hammond Mill Baptist Camp. Years later, his daughter and grandgirls attended there also. He was pleased to be able to attend the baptism of the four grandgirls, telling them that as much as we love them, God loves them more.

Wes enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, visiting with friends, and lending a hand when needed. Though he faced many health challenges in his life, he continued to strive to reach for his goals. He loved his family and his farm living and passed that love on to the next generations saying that "his children were the best crop he ever raised."

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri, with Pastor Dan Duncan officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Memorial Contributions may be made to D. A. V. Disabled American Veterans, P O Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250.
