December 30
A catalytic converter was reported stolen from an RV on U.S. Highway 160 in West Plains. The investigation continues. 
A search warrant was executed on County Road 5800 in Willow Springs. Several items of stolen property were recovered, as well as drug paraphernalia. The case remains under investigation. 
An air compressor and a tractor blade were reported stolen from a residence on State Route MM. The case remains open. 
A male was seen swallowing an entire bottle of medication before he ran into the woods, in an attempt at self harm.. The male was located and was taken to the hospital without incident. 
A search warrant was conducted on Lanton Road in West Plains. One male subject was arrested on a felony warrant and pending drug charges. 
A burglary was reported on State Route E in Moody. 
December 31
Two people were arrested on warrants and pending drug charges during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63 in West Plains. 
An individual came to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of harassment. 
A domestic assault was reported on State Route E in West Plains. A report was taken, but no charges are pending. 
Yelling and a gunshot were heard at a domestic disturbance on State Route K in West Plains. Contact was made with both involved parties. Neither wished to pursue charges. 
January 1
A domestic assault was reported on County Road 6070. The suspect fled the scene, and the victim refused to cooperate with law enforcement. 
A deceased male was reported at a residence on State Route VV in Brandsville. No foul play is suspected. 
Mercy hospital in Springfield received a patient from Mountain View whose injuries were consistent with severe domestic abuse. The woman reported that her husband had struck her in the head and ribs and choked her until she lost consciousness. The investigation continues. Property damage was reported on State Route WW in Mountain View. A report was taken, and no charges are being sought. 
A stolen firearm was recovered from a vehicle during a traffic stop on State Route 14 in West Plains. An occupant of the vehicle was arrested. 
January 2
A property owner reported trespassing on County Road 4910. Suspects drove a truck through a field. 
A male subject who was wanted on multiple active warrants was arrested after a short pursuit near his residence. Additional charges are pending after the man fled when officers arrived on the scene. 
A report of trespassing was received from State Route DD in Willow Springs. 
A runaway juvenile was reported on State Route PP in West Plains. After a search, the juvenile was located on County Road 8800, and was returned home to his parents. 
January 3
A theft from a mailbox was reported on County Road 6310. Similar incidents had been reported in the area. 
January 4
Weapons charges and drug charges are being filed against a West Plains man after a weapons violation offense between family members. The male suspect was arrested after fleeing the scene of the incident in a vehicle. Additional charges may be filed.
