Calls for Service
March 1
Willow Funeral Home requested a funeral escort from First Baptist Church to City Cemetery. 
An MFA truck became stuck near Vintage Floral. Help was requested to stop traffic so the truck could get turned around. 
A semi driver took a wrong exit and got stuck near Crossway Fellowship Church. Midway Towing assisted the driver. 
A patient at Mercy Medical Clinic requested a jump start for their vehicle. 
A report was received of a 17-year-old male that was assaulting his 13-year-old sister. The parents arrived and stated that they would take care of the situation. 
March 2
While on patrol near the UPS facility, Officer Corey Clark was approached by a UPS employee who was unable to gain access to the building, due to a malfunctioning lock. Officer Clark assisted with entrance to the building, after confirming the employee’s identity and permission for access to the building. 
Officer Corey Clark gave a ride to an individual who was having vehicle problems.
A funeral escort was provided from Yarber Funeral Home to City Cemetery. 
A woman was seen punching a female driver in the face. The subject left the scene in a van. 
A female subject reported that information from an accident she was involved in on February 24 was incorrect. The woman stated that the other party involved had provided an incorrect insurance number. 
March 3
Three suspicious individuals were reported near the Love’s Truck Stop. The individuals were were contacted, appeared courteous and asked for a ride. A courtesy ride was provided to the three men. 
Contact was made with an individual after a 9-1-1 hang-up call. A male subject stated that everything was fine, and that he did not know why the call had occurred. 
A 9-1-1 call for a domestic disturbance was received for an incident occurring at Love’s Truck Stop. A male and female subject had been arguing. Neither wished to pursue charges. 
A grass fire was called into 9-1-1 on Belshe Ave. The fire was under control by the fire department, once police responded. 
A call was received of a large dog that had tried to bite someone. The owners of the animal stated that the dog had gotten off of its leash, and would be put back up. 
Assistance was requested from Willow Springs Ambulance. 
March 4
A traffic stop was made near Bear Drive for an expired tag. The driver was cited for failure to register a motor vehicle and failure to maintain financial responsibility. 
March 6
Suspicious activity was reported on West Main Street. The individual that was reported was moving his belongings from an apartment that he was moving out of. 
A lost beagle dog was reported on the 400 block of Pine. 
An open door was reported at a building on Center Street. The building, which appeared abandoned, was secured. 
March 7
A lost dog was reported. The dog, a blind dachshund, was taken to the pound. 
Assistance was given to first responders at Sunshine Village for a female that had fallen in the shower. The patient was transported to the hospital by Texas County EMS. 
A call was received about a McDonald’s employee that smelled of alcohol. Contact was made with the manager. 
A minivan pulling a trailer was stopped, due to sparks coming from underneath the vehicle. The driver was advised to discontinue travel with the trailer. 
March 8
An individual reported that a man had been arriving daily at a property and staring at children playing. 
Assistance was given to an elderly man who had wrecked his bicycle and injured his ankle. 
A report was received of the theft of controlled substances. The subject had the indicators of intoxication from Alazopram and Hydrocodone. 
A report was received of a male in a white Toyota at Snappy Mart who was trying to sell drugs and making threats. 
March 9
A security alarm was activated on Park Street. The residence was secured. 
Contact was requested by an individual, regarding an incident from the previous evening. 
A well-being check was requested. The reporting party stated that a female subject was an hour late for work, which was out of the ordinary. The woman in question was contacted. She stated that she was fine, but had overslept. 
The security alarm was activated at Tractor Supply. The building was secured, and a problem with the security system was fixed.
