The West Plains School District is thrilled to announce Lilia Bennington, a junior trombonist from the West Plains High School Band, has achieved an extraordinary milestone by securing a coveted spot in the esteemed ensemble of the Honors Performance Series Concert Band at Carnegie Hall in New York City. After a highly competitive audition process that drew submissions from exceptionally talented students throughout North America, Bennington has emerged as a Distinguished Finalist.
On February 10, 2024, Bennington will grace the renowned Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall with a performance that promises to be nothing short of exceptional. This remarkable achievement marks the second time a student from West Plains High School has been chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall with this prestigious ensemble.
The Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall serves as a platform to unite some of the most gifted young musicians from across the continent, affording them an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their talents on a global scale. As a finalist, Bennington will proudly represent not only themselves, but also their school and community on this iconic stage.
