Learn more about 'Mythological Monsters of the Ozarks' Oct. 26

Officials with the Ozarks Heritage Research Center (OHRC) at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) will host a presentation on the "Mythological Monsters of the Ozarks" beginning at 6:00 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., in West Plains.
The presentation will be given by Dr. Brooks Blevins, the Noel Boyd Professor of Ozarks Studies at Missouri State University in Springfield.
Blevins recently published his capstone work – three volumes constituting the definitive history of the Ozarks – with the University of Illinois Press. He also is the author or editor of 10 other books, including "Arkansas/Arkansaw: How Bear Hunters, Hillbillies, and Good Ol' Boys Defined a State."
Blevins currently serves on the editorial boards of the "Arkansas Historical Quarterly" and the "Missouri Historical Review," and co-hosts regional history and culture segments on Ozark Highlands Radio.
Organizers said refreshments will be served.
