MSU-WP officials to make announcement Oct. 6 at Looney Hall

Officials with Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) and the Missouri State University Foundation will make an announcement at 11:00 a.m. Oct. 6 at Looney Hall, 128 Garfield Ave., in West Plains.

Officials will announce a significant gift that has led to the naming of the new nursing simulation lab which was recently completed.

The hospital simulation lab will provide realistic spaces for training students to treat patients needing care in a variety of settings, including obstetrics, pediatrics, intensive care, emergency room and a doctor's office, university officials have said.

Initial funding for the project was secured by former U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) in the Fiscal Year 2022 federal budget.
