Mtn. View Garden Club 2024 Smokey Bear poster contest winners announced

Smokey Bear is 80 years old next year, and the local elementary students (first to fifth) in Mountain View and Birch Tree participated in a poster contest for the forest service. The Mountain View Garden Club and Smith Flooring sponsor the contest every year. The first place winners of each grade are sent on to the State Garden Club and then onto the regional contest. There were many wonderful, locally drawn posters from the students of both schools.

Winners from the Mountain View Elementary are, first grade: Kade Brooks, Kainden Pruitt, Kyle Pringle, and Gibson Myers. Second grade: Marley Black-Oimoem, Kelseyville Cantrell, Kendall Franklin, and Brett Patterson. Third grade: Adalie Kruse, Kayden Snider, Hudson Marriott, and Harper Gastineau. Fourth grade: Jase Johnson, Tessa Tipton, and McKenzie King. Fifth grade: Cheyenne Long, Zella Mahin, Lexi Reed, and Kyle Allen. Winner from the Birch Tree Elementary, fourth grade: Brilee Dillard.
