MVBT school board to meet Mar. 9

The Liberty soccer program is on the agenda of the next regular meeting of the R-III Mountain View-Birch Tree School Board. According to the information packet released by the school district, a soccer parent has requested to address the board regarding not only the cancelled season, but also the manner in which it was cancelled. At the Feb. 16 meeting, the school board discussed and voted on the soccer season when the subject was not on the meeting agenda, which is a violation of Missouri’s Sunshine Law.
High school principal John Daniels and Athletic Director Eli Ernst will address the board regarding their recommendation to cancel the 2023 soccer season. The board is expected to vote again regarding the issue of cancelling this season.
Other items of note on the agenda include:
-Setting the graduation date for the 2023-2024 school year
-Annual Performance Report scores
-Administrators’ reports
-A closed session for legal and employee matters.
