Lacey Carter promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Ozarks Healthcare

Lacey Carter, Executive Director of Nursing at Ozarks Healthcare, has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of the health system. As CNO, Carter will oversee the management and operations of all nursing services across Ozarks Healthcare.
“It is with great honor and enthusiasm I announce Lacey Carter’s promotion to Chief Nursing Officer,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President and CEO, said. “Lacey’s knowledge, skills, thoughtfulness, commitment and passion for serving others make her an exceptional nurse and servant leader. Ozarks Healthcare is blessed to have Lacey.”
Carter was named Executive Director of Nursing at Ozarks Healthcare in 2019. She also previously served as Director of Women’s Services and Director of Education at Ozarks Healthcare. During her nursing career at Ozarks Healthcare, Carter led multiple nursing units, while being heavily involved in opening the health system’s state-of-the-art Women’s Center in November of 2020. Carter was also a member of Ozarks Healthcare’s Incident Command System during the COVID-19 pandemic and helped open the health system’s first and second COVID-19 units.
“You will see Lacey in scrubs one day rounding on coworkers and at the bedside with patients, and then in business attire the next day making sure her teams have the support they need and deserve,” Keller said. “Lacey’s patient-centered approach is at the core of our service standards and who we are at Ozarks Healthcare.”
Carter earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Missouri State University and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Leadership and Healthcare Systems from the University of Colorado. Prior to joining Ozarks Healthcare, Carter served as a clinical nurse manager at The Birth Center at St. Anthony’s North Health Campus at Centura Health in Westminster, Colorado.
Originally from West Plains, Carter, her husband, and three children reside in the area and enjoy spending time together as a family outdoors.
