New Quality Assurance/Risk Management Director Named

Texas County Memorial Hospital has selected April Crites, RN, ASN of Bucyrus to be the new quality assurance/risk management director.
Crites began her career with TCMH in 2012 as an RN in med/surg on night shift, and then transitioned to days. Eventually, she divided her weekly shifts between med/surg and ICU. After five years, Crites transferred to Home Health of the Ozarks where she continued for another five years. She was awarded the Daisy Award in 2019, the highest nursing award at TCMH, for her extraordinary care she provided for one of her patients and their family.
Crites earned her ASN from Missouri State University in West Plains.
“I am honored to step into this position to collect and report data timely for our hospital’s improvement,” Crites said. “I look forward to working with our patients and staff to provide the community with the best quality care possible.”
Crites explained that she loved her previous position and the people she worked with, however as she embraces this new leadership role, she anticipates the opportunity to address and resolve our patient concerns quickly.
“I want to develop performance improvement plans to make patient care safer, easier, and a better experience overall,” Crites said. “I expect to see our hospital continue to meet the ever-changing needs of the community and provide even more service lines close to home.”
“April is a valuable asset to TCMH and will play an important role in our future,” Courtney Owens, chief nursing officer at TCMH, said. “Her skills, enthusiasm, and compassion make her an excellent fit as our new quality director.”
Crites is married to Jeff, a Missouri Conservation Agent in Texas County and Houston school board member. They have two daughters who were both born at TCMH, Olivia, 16, a junior, and Sophia, 14, a freshman. Crites enjoys volunteering with Launch teen ministry at the Faith Fellowship campus, attending school ballgames, and spending time outdoors with her family.
