Blood Drive Oct. 16 in Willow Springs

There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, Oct. 16 at the United Methodist Church, located at 311 N. Harris Street in Willow Springs. The drive will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Red Cross experienced a significant blood and platelet donation shortfall in August, and there is a great need to make up for that shortage. Donors are encouraged to go to RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule a time to donate. All successful donors will be eligible to receive a $15 Amazon Gift Card by email.
A blood donor card, driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
