Mark your calendar for the Hootin' and Hollarin' Festival and Quilt Show on September 15, 16 and 17.
Quilts are an important part of the heritage here in the Ozarks and a highlight of the Hootin' and Hollarin' Festival. Come and see beautiful quilts created by the ladies, men and children, as old as 90 and young as 9, who spent many hours creating works of art in cloth.
The quilt show is an inspiration to those who have yet to catch the bug of quilting. Quilters are encouraged to bring their creations for all to admire. The only condition is that it has to have never been in the quilt show before.
Quilts need to be brought in on Tuesday, September 13 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to the east side of the square between Park Place Realty and Sweet Little Things Bakery. Look for the Quilt Show Sign in the window. This will give the judges time to judge on Wednesday and then time to hang the quilts on Thursday to be ready for opening. If space is available, antique quilts for display are welcome, but are not judged.
There will be ten categories to cover anything quilt. There will be special ribbons of Judges Choice, Best in Show, and Peoples’ Choice.
The show times are Thursday, September 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Friday, September 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, contact Lily Branco at 417-989-1313 or lilybranco@hotmail.com.
