2024 I RAN FROM THE COPS 5k and SWAT Challenge Results

For the second year, the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted early morning fitness events on the Fourth of July. A 5K and a SWAT challenge took place on Palenske Field.

Officer Ryan McGinnis with WSPD lead the 5k runners and then followed them throughout the course with flashing lights. The participants can truly say they “ran from the cops.”

The winner of the SWAT Challenge, and MRAP ride in the parade, was Jonathan Bevill. He was unable to attend, however. Second-place winner Caleb Hines gifted the prize to his youngest brother -- James Hines.
HCSO SWAT officers conducted and scored the SWAT Challenge, and according to the Chamber, Sheriff Brett Campbell joined in to encourage the competitors who competed in this strenuous event.
