Accident claims life of Willow Springs toddler

A tragic accident claimed the life of a two-year-old boy Wednesday afternoon. First responders and law enforcement responded to the parking lot of Friga Tire one-half mile southwest of Willow Springs at 3:10 p.m.

Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop G conducted the investigation, confirmed Sergeant Thomas Young. 

“It was a horrific, tragic accident, and our hearts go out to the family. I hope the community can provide them with care and compassion during this difficult time,” Sgt. Young commented. 

The initial report from MSHP reveals that Ean Wake, 22, of Willow Springs, was unaware the toddler was on foot in front of his parked vehicle when he pulled his GMC Sierra forward, striking the victim. The child was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:27 p.m. by Dr. Daniel Kolm of Ozarks Healthcare.
