AirVenture 2022 featured 34 area Experimental Aircraft Association members

Thirty-four area Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1218 members and aviation enthusiasts recently visited AirVenture 2022 in Oshkosh, WI. The weeklong event was attended by more than 650,000 enthusiasts from 92 different countries. All enthusiasts 18 and under received free admission, supported in part by The Boeing Company.
There were 1,400 plus aircraft forums and workshops, a record 10,000 aircrafts spread over three hundred acres, 800 plus exhibitors, incredible air show performances and spectacular fireworks. EAA CEO and Chairman Jack Pelton said, “We introduced a tagline of ‘Unlike Anything Else’ for this year’s AirVenture event and 2022’s fly-in proved to truly be unlike anything else. We had seven days of nearly perfect weather, along with this year’s programs and activities, which brought out people and airplanes in numbers that we haven’t seen before.” There were programs geared to youth such as KidVenture and for the ladies, Women Venture.
This was the 30th anniversary of the Young Eagle Program which has provided more than 2 million young people ages 8-17 an aircraft ride.

EAA Chapter 1218, Willow Springs provides member programs and activities that allow members to meet others with the same interest in a family friendly atmosphere. You do not have to be a pilot to join, the only requirement is a love of aviation. Chapter gatherings are held on the second Saturday of the month.
