Barricaded-In Burglars Charged

On December 2, Howell County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Smith responded to a call for service on County Road 8800 for a report of burglary. Upon arrival, it was discovered that two subjects were unlawfully inside the residence and had barricaded the doors.
Entry was made into the residence, and the subjects were arrested. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, a substance believed to be methamphetamine was located within the residence. Valli D. Dalton and Jacob A. Sims were taken into custody and transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.
A formal felony charge of drug possession was filed against Dalton on December 2. Sims’ charges related to this matter were bound over after a grand jury indictment. He now faces two felony counts of stealing.
