The Balloon Glow and Fireworks Show drew a large crowd to the Heart of the Ozarks Fairgrounds in West Plains on Saturday night. The event benefiting The Child Advocacy Center had live music, food trucks, and ended with a fireworks show.
The event brought out young and old to view four hot air balloons and enjoy the music of multiple bands. Classic rock entertained the crowd with ThunderShine (formerly Fender Bender), Tom Bryant Band, and Simply Seger Tribute Band.
Parking at the north and south ends of the Fairgrounds were nearly packed for the event. The balloons were not up long after the sunset in preparation for the Fireworks Finale at the end of the show. While it was a warm spring day, the crowd was ready for the cooler evening temperatures with jackets, blankets, and multiple food trucks keeping the crowds fed.
The fireworks show was set up by KY3 meteorologist Brandon Beck and Dr. Brian Morrison of West Plains Dental Group, with Morrison programming the fireworks to sync with the music. The pair are certified, licensed pyrotechnics operators in Missouri.
