Birch Tree Gets Grant for Culvert Repairs

The City of Birch Tree has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant project in the amount of  $836,046 to replace two problematic and undersized culvert bridges over Birch Creek. This infrastructure has been the cause of numerous instances of flash flooding in the community. The bridges targeted for replacement are on Park Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Birch Tree.

The South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG) assisted Birch Tree officials in project development and grant application writing and will also serve as the project administrator.
