Birch Tree Woman Dies in Single Car Crash

Cheryl Hadaway-Sanderson, 77, of Birch Tree, succumbed to her injuries after a single-car crash on February 2. Hadaway-Sanderson was alone in the vehicle when her Chrysler Town and Country ran off the left side of the road, veered back into traffic, and hit a tree on the right side of the roadway. The crash occurred on US Highway 60 three miles west of Birch Tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Shannon County Coroner Sam Murphy at 6:10 p.m. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
