CHARGES PENDING AFTER DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND STAND-OFF

On April 21, at approximately 9:21 p.m., West Plains Police Department officers responded to Renfrow Street for a report of a domestic disturbance involving a woman who had been assaulted by a man with a knife. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised a man in the residence had cut her with the knife. The victim, who had apparent minor injuries from the assault, told officers her assailant was still in the residence.

Officers approached the residence to attempt to contact the suspect and observed him standing behind the front door holding a knife. Using a public address speaker, officers demanded the suspect to exit the residence. Approximately 15 minutes later, the subject did exit the residence, knife still in hand.

Officers commanded the subject to drop the knife. Eventually, the suspect complied, although police say he attempted to escape before being taken into custody.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Isaac L. Luck of West Plains, was transported to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental/psychological evaluation. According to a press release from the WPPD, Luck is expected to face charges of second degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
