City of Willow Springs Six-Month Financial Review

At the regular City Council meeting on July 19, City Administrator Beverly Hicks shared financials through June 30. She highlighted the largest increases in the City's expenses were in repair and management costs and in salaries. The former increase was due to the pool repairs, and the latter to minimum wage increases per state law. The overall increase in municipal expenses has been $200,237.14. The category of repairs and maintenance alone saw an increase of $151,187.68. Salaries increased more than $63,000 in the last six months.
As for revenue, Hicks informed Council that there has been an increase compared to this time last year, especially in sales tax. The overall revenue increase compared to this time in 2020 is $254,474.27. However, the most significant revenues are expected at the end of the year.
