Suspicious Activity Leads to Four Arrests in Douglas County

Douglas County Sheriff Degase responded to a call regarding suspicious activity of four males on Highway 95 at about 7:00 a.m. on May 21. Sheriff Degase detained three males and had one male in the area on foot, armed with a shotgun. During the investigation, a shotgun was fired by the suspect approximately 50 yards from the scene. A few minutes later, the male was spotted walking north on Highway 95 towards the scene. The male was taken into custody by Ozark County Sergeant Justin Brown and Sheriff Degase without incident. When asked where the firearm was, the individual stated he left the gun in the ditch approximately 50 yards from where he was taken into custody. The firearm was located and found to have one loaded round in the chamber and two loaded rounds in the magazine. Upon search of the vehicle the four men were traveling in, a green, leafy substance was located, along with drug paraphernalia. In the backseat of the vehicle, a field dressed sheep with an ear-tag was also located. The four men are currently being held in the Ozark County Jail pending formal charges. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigated the field dressed sheep and have located the owner with formal charges forthcoming.
