Howell County Commission Activities

The Howell County Commission met on Oct. 27 and 31.
On Thursday, the Commission was scheduled to meet with Justin Long from the Sheriff’s Office regarding a grant for bulletproof vests. Howell County Public Administrator John Pruett was scheduled to address the commission about a new employee. The Commission also approved payroll. 
On Monday, they were scheduled to review and approve the 2023 MOPERM Commercial Liability renewal coverages. Bids for flood buyout demolition work were scheduled to be opened at 10:00 a.m. with SCOCOG present. 
For the foreseeable future, agendas will include discussion to consider and award ARPA requests. Agendas also regularly include approving accounts payable and recognizing any guests who appear.
Your Howell County Commissioners are Presiding Commissioner Mark Collins, Northern Commissioner Calvin Wood, and Southern Commissioner Billy Sexton. The commission meets in regular session on Mondays and Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The meetings remain open during the lunch hour and are open to the public.
