Lindeman enters the race

The election for Missouri State Representative is now contested. Larry Lindeman, of West Plains, filed as a Republican candidate on March 20. Sitting Representative David Evans announced via his Capitol Report on March 13 that he intends to retire and will withdraw his name from candidate filing.

Lisa Durnell, of Willow Springs, filed to run on March 14. If the race remains among Republicans, it will be decided in the August Primary. If a Democrat files, the seat will be decided in the General Election in November.

Lindeman was unavailable for an interview prior to press time. See upcoming issues for more information on his candidacy.

As of the time of this writing, Rep. Evans remains listed as a candidate in this race by the Secretary of State. In response to an inquiry, Evans explained that he must withdraw in person, and has been away from Jefferson City on Spring Break.
